The grapes for this wine are grown on our Rowland Flat Vineyard which adjoins the North Para River in the Barossa Valley. This wine completed fermentation in new and two year old seasoned American oak. The resultant wine has a very deep purple color, with a black heart. The bouquet is rich and powerful, with defined aromas of currants, plums, and liquorish, enhanced by supple oak and hints of tar and earth. The palate is mouth filling, displaying luscious flavors of chocolate, liquorish, and, black fruits. It has all of the spice and concentration of a true Barossa Shiraz, with powerful fruit, softening tannins, and a dense middle palate that leads into a long, lingering finish.
